The story of The Wooden Touch putter began in a small Oregon myrtlewood factory. Myrtle native to Oregon is one of the most cherished hardwoods and grows primarily in a small area on the Pacific Coast. Among the skilled craftsmen who had been making hand-crafted gifts of the rare myrtlewood was a golfer who believed that wood putters provide a touch vital to accurate placement of the ball. Soon word spread and request for putters came in a few at a time. The popularity of the putter continued to grow. With that growth came a recognition that the factory was making what was considered one of golf's most beautiful and efficient putters. The design of the putter evolved through use by hundreds of players. Cocobolo from Mexico was added to give the striking surface the density desired long-term use.
