2012 Business Profile

How Long in Business: 27 years!!! We first opened Apr. 1 1985
We plan to be in business for another 27 years.

Services Offered: We offer a very large selection of Myrtlewood products and art suitable for gift giving as well as for your own home décor. With our new expansion, we are able to offer a much larger selection of wood including lumber, clock slabs, table slabs, plaque stock, turning stock, as well as furnishings, and a lot more gallery items. When our woodworkers are in the shop, we welcome our guests to "see it made".
We now also have our Nursery Growers License and are growing new Myrtle trees from seed. We currently have over 500 seedlings available to plant for the future generation.

Eco Friendly: Sustainable Forestry is a concept we highly value. We use mostly wood that has fallen naturally or was fallen for reasons other than harvesting the wood. If someone calls to try to sell me a myrtlewood tree I ask them if it is a healthy tree? If it is, I tell them to please let it continue to grow. I don't encourage or promote falling beautiful trees. The tree is worth more standing than it is if fallen. We are able to salvage enough wood from logs that are already down. We do periodically save a piece or two that is otherwise destined for the chip yard or paper mill. Fortunately you can make lots of small things from one tree. We also encourage our customers and suppliers to help plant trees for the future.

Sharon has always been an avid saver and re user of all packing materials. We now have a basket of saved bags available at our checkout counter and reuse packing boxes. All of our foam peanuts are gleaned from other businesses around town and are re used instead of going to the landfill. We encourage you to either reuse these again or donate them to another business in your area that does a lot of shipping.

What sets us apart from the rest: Our shop is like a museum of Fine Woodworking. Not only do we do our own woodworking, We also represent over 100 Northwest woodworkers and Artists providing us with what is probably the largest selection of Myrtlewood Products available. As a small family business, we still provide that special one-to-one customer service.

We are much more than a "Myrtlewood factory outlet"
